Organizations you can donate to for victims of Typhoon Odette / Rai in the Philippines

On December 16, 2021, Typhoon Odette / Rai struck the Philippine archipelago, hitting severely populated areas within the Visayas and Mindanao region as reported by According to ABS CBN news, Oddette / Rai was a super typhoon packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers an hour (120 miles). On Friday, wind speeds eased to 150 kilometers an hour.

Based on an article from CNN, the intensity of the typhoon caused physical damage to properties. Leveling homes and uprooting powerlines, leaving many people homeless and the cities that it passed with no electricity.

As per the Philippine News Agency’s website (, the extent of the damage of Typhoon Odette in Cebu City left many roads impassable and left affected areas with no electricity, drinking water, internet connection, and fatalities.

It is heartbreaking that so many people experienced this calamity. Let us spread the spirit of Christmas, and use this opportunity to share kindness and compassion with those who need it most by donating in cash or in kind. No matter how small your donation, if we work together in unity, our collective efforts will help to alleviate the suffering of those that have been affected.
