Thank you 2021 and Hello 2022! My reading summary for 2021 and to-be-read for 2022!

A Belated Happy New Year Everyone! It’s a rather late greeting and I do apologize, but I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful support that you have all provided in the past year!

Transforming audaysciously.com into a book blog was one of the best decisions I’ve made last year. Not only did it introduce me to individuals who are interested in reading and writing, but I also rediscovered the joy of reading as I was transported into magical realms hidden within the pages of a book!

It was difficult for me to revive the blog earlier during the year because I was working on my Master’s thesis and I was only able to go back to reading for leisure in August. I didn’t expect to be exposed to so many tales of fantasy but by the end of the year, I realized that I’ve explored 27 stories that were crafted by incredibly talented writers and it was a joy to read their works.

It was also a pleasure to be accepted as a Book Reviewer in Book Sirens where I had the opportunity to review books before they were going to be published or upon publishing.

And also as a Book Reviewer for Netgalley where I received advanced reader copies of the comics below!

I am also grateful for the chance to review the works of Lukonge Achilees and Kaidence Myers who are both self-published authors.

Thank you again everyone for your support! I enjoyed reading these stories and sharing my thoughts about them in my book reviews. To the authors and publishers who reached out to me, thank you once again for the free advanced reader copies provided and for the opportunity to read and review such wonderful works of fiction and non-fiction 🙂

Now that 2022 has rolled in, I look forward to having more bookish conversations with everyone! I have many books that I have yet to read on my bookshelf because I went a bit overboard buying books on Black Friday (Oops!) and, I was lent a Kobo (Which is an e-reader like Kindle) which has several books that I have been dying to read! Hahaha, not that I’m complaining- I am more than happy to devour these novels and share my thoughts about these books in a blog post.

Twenty-four fiction books to read!

Also, for the past few years, I have collected several non-fiction books. I’ve read a few of them but not completely as I have the bad habit of just reading the chapters that intrigue me (I’m ashamed to admit this!). There were also a few books that I just stopped reading because I felt that it wasn’t my cup of tea or the content seemed too heavy for me to digest. So these books gathered dust on my shelf. When I was sorting through my books at the start of the year, some of the titles caught my interest and it made me want to start reading non-fiction again. So, I’ve made a separate TBR list for my non-fiction books.

Eighteen non-fiction books to learn from!

I have eighteen non-fiction books to read and let’s see how it goes! Hahaha…I tend to find reading non-fiction almost akin to reading a textbook because of all the information you have to absorb. However, the learning that comes with reading non-fiction is an awesome and undeniable perk. So, for this year, I’m going to try finishing one non-fiction book every month from the list above and I’ll share what I’ve learned by posting a book review about it! Who knows, I might even share a reflection on how the tips within these books helped me as I apply what I have learned from these books into my life.

Overall, that is my to-be-read list for 2022. Forty-two books is a big number and hopefully, I will be able to make it! If you know of any tips that can help me read all of these books or to read way more than forty-two books for this year, please do share them with me! I would love to hear them!

If you are an author or a publisher and you have a book that you would like me to review, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Though I have a TBR for 2022, I will find a way to include the book that you would like me to read and review into my reading list.

Once again thank you, everyone, for your support and a belated Happy New Year!

Love,
Days
